Times of London’s interest in US market called “puzzling”

Beginning today, The Times of London US edition is available in New Jersey and New York. “It’s really puzzling,” says Bonnie Brownlee of the Indiana University School of Journalism. “It’s hard to see how they’re going to make any money. The BBC is one thing — there’s hope for them [in the US market]. But the Times? Who wants it? It’s not what it used to be. It’s a Murdoch paper! And it’s so weird reading it as a tabloid.”  [Italics added]

This dog don’t bark

Sherlock Holmes made the non-barking dog the key clue [scroll down].  NY Times et al. do something like that.  They manage to talk about Islamic terrorism in Canada without using the word “Muslim” or “Islam” and using “Koran” only in defense of shot bomb-maker:  Here  and here. 

 

Whatever are they up to?  NYT et al., that is.  We have a  pretty good idea what the others are up to.
