How Dems promoted the late, not so great housing crisis. Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer et al. Frank in effect made his own heck-of-a-job recommendation for Fannie & Freddie, making his that old battle cry of the truly irresponsible, affordable housing.

Taxpayer losses from the government seizure of failed housing finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could reach nearly $400 billion, but likely won’t top that level as some had feared, the firms’ federal regulator said Wednesday.
