Disappointed at election results?

Some golden thoughts for the politically disappointed, or for any other kind, for that matter:

“Not being able to govern events, I govern myself.”
— Michel de Montaigne
[Michel Eyquem De Montaigne] (1532-1592) French Renaissance scholar, philosopher, writer

“I am, indeed, a king, because I know how to rule myself.”
— Pietro Aretino
(1492-1556) Italian author, playwright, poet and satirist
10 May 1537

“Are right and wrong convertible terms, dependant upon popular opinion?”
— William Lloyd Garrison
(1805-1879) American abolitionist, journalist, and social reformer

  1. It took $100,000,000 to destroy the character and reputation of a good and moral man who has the skills this country needs but doesn’t want. A sad commentary on the “Great Society” and what it has become.

    1. The supreme irony to all criticisms of politics is that political govenance is, at least in theory, the first and most comprehensive of all our human institutions. It should be drawing our best. And occasionally it really does….

  2. If $100 million can convince you that a moral and decent man is dangerous and a threat to our country would $200 million change your opinion of God? The slime of this election should sicken all of us!
